Established in the 2019-2020 academic year, the Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education accepts students to the Turkish Language Teaching Undergraduate Program, depending on the Department of Turkish Education. The program was prepared in accordance with international standards and the accreditation criteria of the Higher Education Council.
Turkish Language Teaching Undergraduate Program aims to educate idealist Turkish language teachers who can speak the Turkish language correctly, beautifully and effectively, who know the historical development of the Turkish language, its structure and form features very well, who have a good command of teaching the turkish language, who are equipped in terms of modern teaching methods and educational technologies at the end of the four-year undergraduate program. In addition, an optional English Preparatory Program is provided for prospective teachers before the undergraduate program.
Our graduates can be employed as Turkish teachers in state schools, private schools, and non-formal education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. In addition, they have the opportunity to work in centers, courses and programs opened to teach Turkish to foreigners; He can work in state archives, libraries, private televisions and radios, various magazines, newspapers and publishing houses.
İstanbul 29 Mayıs University Turkish Language Teaching Undergraduate Program has 3 assistant professors, and 1 research assistant in their academic staff. The program has 65 students in total, 41 of them in the 1st grade, 18 of them in the 2st grade and 6 in the English preparatory department.
